While we were staying in Big Sur, we went out hiking in Palo Corona Regional Park in Carmel Valley, just a couple miles east of highway 1. After crossing the remains of an old golf course and crossing the Carmel River, we come to wide open rolling grassland and old oak trees, and a distant view of the ocean. It was an easy, peaceful 3 mile hike and we enjoyed it.
